Engadget - www.engadget.com: "Yahoo doesnt buy Skype, but does buy DialPad >

So far Yahoo hasnt scooped up Skype (at least not yet), but earlier today master scoopster Om Malik broke the story that they did just buy DialPad, an older VoIP provider that wed pretty much completely forgotten about. Yahoo has confirmed the story, with their VP of Corporate Communications saying that they were looking for a quick way to add PC2Phone and inbound calls."

Engadget - www.engadget.com: "Sirius radio coming to Sprint phones >
Related entries: Cellphones, Portable Audio
Well, XM has been in talks with cellphone carriers , but it looks like Sirius is the first to make an official announcement: theyre partnering with Sprint to supply music channels to Sprint PCS customers. There arent too many details at this point, with plans to be unveiled later in the year all we really know is theyre looking at channels new hits, classic rock, hip-hop, country and blues. The cost of the channels will be included in Sprints package to consumers, as opposed to being made available separately by Sirius. All of this marking another chapter in the push to get content flowing beyond merely the subscribers who want to pony up for the satellite receiver equipment."

Long Overdue Updates
So it's been quite some time and I apologize for the delay in getting an update out to you all! Let me start by saying Skip is doing outstanding! He's been encouraged, optimistic and patient. He's done much better emotionally than I would have expected.
Skip as we all know him, has always been a positive person, but he's also been a bit ancy! He's always got to be doing something and with the impact of a Stroke, I was unsure how he would deal with the lack of mobility and inability to be out and about. I haven't seen a bit of depression or frustration or discouragement about his situation. This is extremely good because one of the common things that occurs with recovering stroke patients, is "major depression".
Onto a different topic, let's talk about his physical improvements. He's no longer on a feeding tube and his cathater is gone! Yea!!!
His speech is very good and he's able to have a very good conversation! He's a bit mumbly at times but this usually occurs when he's trying to get too much out or if the speech is fairly complex. He's still in the wheelchair, which is of no suprise but almost 3 weeks ago he started to move his right leg and foot. Now he's fully able to move his right leg on command and the feeling there keeps getting better. As for his right arm, he's just recently beginning to get the feeling back, but there's not any movement yet. His overall body movement and improvements have been gradual but continuous, which is all that we can hope for. THe Doctors do believe that he will continue to improve and eventually walk again! So the road may be long but it's steady and good!
So, I would like to thank all of you for your time in checking up on Skip and into the site. I apologize it has been so long since you've got an update!
My mom and he are doing very well and cards and pictures are always welcome to their home...at:

Tablet PC Buzz.com - Your premier source for Tablet PC news and information
Tablet PC Buzz.com - Your premier source for Tablet PC news and information: "Apple Computer plans to announce Monday that it's scrapping its partnership with IBM and switching its computers to Intel's microprocessors, CNET News.com has learned.
Apple has used IBM's PowerPC processors since 1994, but will begin a phased transition to Intel's chips, sources familiar with the situation said. Apple plans to move lower-end computers such as the Mac Mini to Intel chips in mid-2006 and higher-end models such as the Power Mac in mid-2007, sources said.
The announcement is expected Monday at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco, at which Chief Executive Steve Jobs is giving the keynote speech. The conference would be an appropriate venue: Changing the chips would require programmers to rewrite their software to take full advantage of the new processor.
IBM, Intel and Apple declined to comment for this story.
The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Apple was considering switching to Intel, but many analysts were skeptical citing the difficulty and risk to Apple.'
Thanks for the link, Chris."

Slashdot | Will Next-Gen Consoles Kill Off PC Gaming?
Slashdot | Will Next-Gen Consoles Kill Off PC Gaming?: "An anonymous reader writes 'CNET is predicting that next-generation consoles will drive the final nails into the already half-closed coffin of mainstream PC gaming. The root of their argument isn't one of power, but of price: 'The bottom line is that console manufacturers often heavily subsidize their new machines, swallowing huge losses up front in hopes that they'll make it all back selling games... Other things being equal, the DIY-heavy PC gaming industry can't hope to compete in that kind of market.' Which is to say that once the 18-34 demographic starts buying $400 PS3s instead of $400 video cards, developers may have no choice but to follow suit.' Will there still be a market for PC games, or are the graphics of the next generation of consoles going to make PC games unnecessary? "
